ST. JOHNSBURY — A Bradford woman faces drug trafficking charges after correctional officers discovered fentanyl during intake at a detention facility May 15.

Lisa Akey, 41, was arrested at 9:44 a.m. at her Bradford residence by Vermont State Police troopers in connection to the suspicious disappearance of 43-year-old Corey Crooker earlier this year.

Akey was transported to the Northeast Correctional Complex at 1270 US-5 in St. Johnsbury pending arraignment in Orange County Superior Court.

During the intake process at 4:05 p.m., correctional officers located contraband on Akey’s person.

The substance was later determined to be fentanyl.

Akey faces charges of fentanyl trafficking of 70+ milligrams, transportation of regulated drugs into places of detention, and providing false information to a police officer.

She was issued a citation ordering her to appear in Caledonia County Superior Court on July 14 at 8:30 a.m.
