State police patrol car crashes during traffic stop attempt in Greenburgh

GREENBURGH — New York State Police responded to a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 87 involving a marked State Police patrol vehicle at approximately 8:25 a.m. June 6.

An investigation determined that a trooper was attempting to initiate a traffic stop on I-87 northbound on a speeding vehicle when he lost control.

The patrol car entered the middle lane and hit the back of a Mercedes Benz driven by Natasha M. Murray, 49, of Westbury.

Murray was transported by Elmsford EMS to Westchester Medical Center for minor injuries.

The trooper was transported by Ardsley EMS to Westchester Medical Center for minor injuries.
