PLEASANT VALLEY — A Trooper from SP Poughkeepsie conducted a traffic stop on a 2020 Acura traveling southbound on the Taconic State Parkway in the Town of Pleasant Valley for multiple violations of the Vehicle and Traffic Law on June 3 at approximately 10:48 p.m.
During the stop, the operator, identified as Donny J. Peralta Parra, 32, of Queens, N.Y., exhibited signs of intoxication.
Standardized field sobriety tests were administered, which Peralta Parra failed.
An investigation revealed that a 6-year-old child was also in the vehicle at the time of the stop.
Peralta Parra was taken into custody and transported to SP Poughkeepsie for processing, where he refused to provide a breath sample.
The child was released to a sober party.
Peralta Parra was charged with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated with a Child Passenger Under 16 (Leandra’s Law), a Class E Felony, and multiple Vehicle and Traffic Law violations.
Peralta Parra was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Pleasant Valley Court on July 29 at 5:30 p.m.
