Milton traffic stop yields 2 arrests, stolen firearms seizure

MILTON — A routine traffic stop in the early morning hours of Jan. 15 led to the arrest of two individuals and the seizure of stolen firearms, according to the Milton Police Department.

Officer A.O. Johnson was monitoring traffic at approximately 1:30 a.m. when he observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed.

Upon approaching the vehicle during the traffic stop, Johnson observed an open container of alcohol and detected the odor of burnt marijuana.

The officer also noted the presence of marijuana paraphernalia in the vehicle.

Further investigation revealed that both the operator and passenger were under the age of 21.

Johnson’s continued investigation uncovered two stolen firearms along with ammunition inside the vehicle.

Both individuals were placed under arrest and will be arraigned at Quincy District Court.

The charges include speeding, possession of an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle, possession of a Class D drug, possession of a firearm without an FID card, and possession of a large capacity firearm.
