Boston police recover 3 loaded firearms in drug investigation

BOSTON — Officers assigned to the Drug Control Units of District C-11 (Dorchester) and B-3 (Mattapan) arrested John Price, 44, of Boston, on firearm and drug charges Saturday.

At about 1:31 p.m., officers were conducting a month-long drug investigation and execution of search warrants in the area of 455 Old Colony Avenue, South Boston.

As a result of the search warrants, officers recovered three firearms, one plastic bag of cocaine, two digital scales, and drug packaging materials.

The three firearms were determined to be a Ruger Super Black Hawk 44 Magnum loaded with five rounds, a Rock Island Armory 45 ACP with one round in the chamber and seven rounds in the magazine, and a Smith and Wesson .40 caliber with one round in the chamber and four rounds in the magazine.

Price was placed under arrest and is expected to be arraigned in South Boston District Court on charges including three counts of unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, improper storage of a firearm, possession with intent to distribute Class B cocaine, and armed career criminal.
