WEBSTER — A 34-year-old woman was arrested Thursday after police found her driving a stolen rental vehicle on Pleasant Street.

Webster Police Officer Robert Rockwood took a report May 29 of a rental vehicle stolen the previous night from the North Village apartment complex.

Officers and detectives were notified of the theft and issued a BOLO alert to surrounding agencies.

Around 11:51 a.m., Detective Sergeant Christopher Trainor and Detective Timothy Whiting spotted the stolen vehicle in front of a multi-family residence on Pleasant Street.

Detectives stopped the vehicle and removed two female occupants.

The driver, Laurina Opatka of Chase Avenue, Webster, had a suspended driver’s license and was arrested by Officer Sean Ebbeling.

Detectives recovered a small amount of crack cocaine and suspected drug packaging from the driver’s seat where Opatka had been sitting.

Opatka told police she had been given the stolen vehicle by someone else.

She was charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, possession of a Class B drug and receiving a stolen motor vehicle.
