Syracuse man arrested in Bath on felony driving charge

BATH — A 69-year-old Syracuse man was arrested June 4 after police stopped him for a traffic violation and discovered his driver’s license was suspended.

Jesus Ponce was pulled over at approximately 6:40 a.m. on West Morris Street by Bath Village Police Department officers for an observed violation of New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law.

Police determined Ponce had a suspended New York State driver’s license and arrested him on a charge of aggravated unlicensed operation in the first degree, a Class E felony.

Ponce was processed and transported to Steuben County Jail for centralized arraignment processing, where he was remanded without the opportunity for bail.

Police determined Ponce was a three-time convicted felon.
