Somerville police make 2 arrests in knife-related incidents

SOMERVILLE — Police responded to Statue Park for a dispute at 12:29 a.m. May 29.

Officers spoke with a victim who said a female approached him and began yelling at him.

The female then brandished a knife and lunged at the victim.

No injuries were reported.

Officers located the female suspect and placed her under arrest.

Police responded to Foss Park at approximately 10:16 p.m. May 31 for a report of an assault.

Officers spoke with a victim who said he was chased by an individual with a knife.

Police responded to Medford Street at approximately 3:10 p.m. June 2 for a report of a fight.

Officers observed a large group of juveniles in the parking lot.

Officers spoke with two juvenile males who said they were in a fight against each other.

Both parties then left the area.

Police responded to 14 McGrath Highway at approximately 10:18 a.m. June 3 for a report of an assault.

Officers spoke with a victim who said she was driving through the parking lot and almost struck a male.

The male began yelling at the victim then spit on her and brandished a knife.

He was placed under arrest.

Police also reported two motor vehicle thefts, four motor vehicle vandalisms, one package theft and one car break-in during the period.
