Rhode Island police arrest 5 in fraud, drug, assault cases

NORTH KINGSTOWN — Rhode Island State Police arrested five people on fraud, drug and assault charges during a two-day operation June 3-4.

Jesse Tomlinson, 36, of 1555 Tower Hill Road, North Kingstown, was arrested June 3 by members of the Rhode Island Violent Fugitive Task Force and the Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section of Massachusetts as a fugitive from justice.

Tomlinson faces charges of assault and battery on a police officer, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (vehicle) and failure to stop from the Massachusetts State Police Foxboro Barracks.

He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the State Police Wickford Barracks for processing before being brought to Kent County Courthouse for arraignment.

Keith Greene, 54, of 203 Federal Street, Providence, was arrested June 3 by the Rhode Island Violent Fugitive Task Force and Financial Crimes Unit on charges of bank fraud, obtaining property by false pretenses over $1,500 and identity fraud.

Greene was processed at State Police Headquarters and brought to Sixth District Court, where he was ordered held as a Superior Court violator.

Ryan P. Garnetto, 45, of 23 Starr Street, Apartment E, Johnston, was arrested June 3 by the Financial Crimes Unit on charges of false statement to obtain a loan, fraudulent checks over $1,500, obtaining money under false pretenses and identity fraud.

Garnetto was arraigned at Third Division District Court by Judge James J. Caruolo and released on $25,000 personal recognizance.

Evan Lin, 19, of 462 52nd Street, Apartment 1A, Brooklyn, New York, was arrested June 4 by the Financial Crimes Unit and FBI Financial Crimes Task Force on charges of conspiracy, obtaining property by false pretenses over $1,500 and computer access.

Lin was processed at the Hope Valley Barracks, arraigned by a justice of the peace and released.

Anthony Concepcion, 34, of 76 Ortoleva Drive, Apt. 1, Providence, was arrested June 4 by the HIDTA Task Force on charges of possession with intent to deliver fentanyl and crack cocaine.

Concepcion was processed at the Lincoln Barracks, arraigned by a justice of the peace and turned over to the ACI Intake Center pending his morning arraignment in Sixth Division District Court.
