PAINTED POST — New York State Police arrested a 31-year-old woman on child exploitation charges following a months-long investigation that began with a tip from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children.
Renea S. Haight of Painted Post was charged with promoting a sexual performance by a child less than 17 years of age, a class D felony.
The investigation began Dec. 23, 2024, when state police in Painted Post received a Cyber Tipline report from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children regarding the possession of child abuse material.
Police determined through their investigation that Haight possessed files of child sexual abuse materials.
On May 30, state police seized an electronic device for forensic examination by the Troop E Computer Crimes Unit as part of the ongoing child exploitation investigation.
Haight was processed at the Painted Post state police station and transported to Steuben County Jail for centralized arraignment processing.
