Missing Highland woman found safe in woods after 3-hour search

HIGHLAND — Lloyd Police responded to a residence on Hawley’s Corners Road yesterday at approximately 12:30 p.m. for a report of a missing 65-year-old woman.

The woman’s husband reported her missing after she had been gone for over an hour, possibly in a wooded area.

Lloyd Police requested assistance from the New York State Police Drone Unit, Ulster County Sheriff’s Department Drone Unit and Ulster County K9 Units.

At approximately 3:30 p.m., Deputy Lyman and K9 Rico located the 65-year-old woman about three-quarters of a mile into a wooded area.

The woman was found uninjured and safely reunited with her family.
