HOLYOKE — Holyoke Police Chief Brian Keenan announced that on June 4, members of the Holyoke Police Narcotics Task Force, Drug Enforcement Administration, Massachusetts State Police, Hampden District Attorney’s SAFE Unit and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms conducted an operation to curtail open-air drug dealing in the city.
The operation resulted in the arrest of 10 suspects and the recovery of heroin, fentanyl, cocaine, crack-cocaine and cash.
While conducting surveillance, officers observed a subject, later identified as Antoine Diaz, in Soucy Park involved in a suspected drug deal with a suspect, later identified as Juan Carlos Llorens-DeJesus.
Diaz left the area and got into a car.
Investigators conducted a traffic stop and recovered seven vials of cocaine.
Diaz was placed under arrest.
Investigators then moved into the park and detained Llorens-DeJesus and a female later identified as Maria Gonzalez.
Gonzalez was placed under arrest for drug possession.
Llorens-DeJesus was arrested as well as investigators recovered two grams of crack-cocaine, more than two grams of fentanyl and cash.
Law enforcement officers continued this operation on the 100 block of Sargeant Street.
Investigators observed suspected drug activity and moved in to detain a suspect, later identified as Steven Devers.
Devers attempted to run away and tossed heroin/fentanyl from the 4th floor.
Investigators caught up to Devers and placed him under arrest.
Investigators recovered approximately 100 bags of heroin/fentanyl, 27 vials of cocaine and cash.
Another subject, Anthony Broden, was arrested during this sweep for two active arrest warrants.
Law enforcement officers were also conducting surveillance on the 0-100 block of Cabot Street.
They observed a suspect, later identified as Omar Albira-Torres, conducting suspected drug deals.
Investigators detained Albira-Torres and recovered approximately seven grams of cocaine and crack-cocaine.
Albira-Torres was placed under arrest.
Investigators also arrested Luis Vazquez Jr. for the possession of crack-cocaine and Pedro Rosado-Torres and Jessica Dahlke for outstanding arrest warrants.
Juan Carlos Llorens-DeJesus, 38, of Holyoke is charged with distribution of a Class A drug, distribution of a Class B drug, possession with the intent to distribute a Class A drug, possession with the intent to distribute a Class B drug, possession of a Class A drug and possession of a Class B drug.
Antoine Diaz, 44, of Agawam is charged with possession of a Class B drug.
Steven Devers, 36, of Indian Orchard is charged with distribution of a Class A drug, possession with the intent to distribute a Class A drug, possession with the intent to distribute a Class B drug, possession of a Class A drug and possession of a Class B drug.
Pedro Rosado-Torres, 53, of Holyoke is charged with an arrest warrant.
Maria Gonzalez, 55, of Chicopee is charged with possession of a Class B drug.
Omar Albira-Torres, 46, of Springfield is charged with possession with the intent to distribute a Class B drug, possession of a Class B drug and an arrest warrant.
Luis Vazquez Jr., 50, of West Springfield is charged with possession of a Class B drug.
Thomas Miklovich, 42, of Hadley is charged with possession of a Class A drug and trespass.
Jessica Dahlke, 40, of Belchertown is charged with an arrest warrant.
Anthony Broden, 41, of West Springfield is charged with an arrest warrant.
