Driver crashes into electrical pole on Route 2 in Marshfield

MARSHFIELD — A 79-year-old woman was transported to the hospital with suspected minor injuries after crashing into an electrical pole Thursday afternoon.

Barbara Colf of Marshfield was driving east on U.S. Route 2 near John Fowler Road at approximately 12:55 p.m. when she failed to maintain her lane, according to Vermont State Police.

Colf was wearing a seatbelt when her 2023 Mitsubishi Eclipse struck the electrical pole.

The vehicle sustained moderate front-end damage.

Colf was transported to Central Vermont Medical Center for treatment of suspected minor injuries.

Troopers from the Berlin Barracks responded to the single-vehicle crash.

Road conditions were dry and weather was clear at the time of the incident.

The Marshfield Fire Department, Vermont Agency of Transportation and East Montpelier Ambulance assisted at the scene.
