BOSTON — Two suspects wanted in connection with separate firearm incidents were arrested Thursday morning by Boston police.
Durrell White, 18, of West Roxbury, was arrested at about 6:19 a.m. in the area of 1235 VFW Parkway by members of the Youth Violence Strike Force and officers assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan).
White was wanted on a warrant issued out of Dorchester District Court for unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, and carrying a loaded firearm without a license.
He is expected to be arraigned in West Roxbury District Court.
White’s arrest stems from an incident at Harambee Park where officers conducting a directed patrol at about 5 p.m. observed two individuals adjusting unknown objects in their mid-sections.
The group began to leave the park, with the two individuals continuously looking over their shoulders at officers.
One individual separated from the group and proceeded to the rear of 240 Westview Street, then was seen sprinting from the area while holding an unknown object in his waistband.
Officers observed the second individual run on Stratton Street towards Lucerne Street as they chased the first suspect.
Both suspects evaded arrest, but officers recovered two firearms during a canvas of the area.
A Glock 9mm firearm with nine rounds in the magazine was recovered in the area of 51 Floyd Street.
A second firearm, a Glock 45 with fifteen rounds in the magazine and an obliterated serial number, was recovered at 90 Ames Way.
In a separate arrest, Sincere Hector-Lyons, 19, of Dedham, was arrested at about 9 a.m. in the area of 291 East Street by members of the Youth Violence Strike Force, District B-3 officers, and Dedham Police Department officers.
Hector-Lyons was wanted on a warrant issued out of Dorchester District Court for unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, unlawful possession of a loaded firearm, and discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building.
He is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
Hector-Lyons’ charges stem from a May 18 incident when officers responded to the area of 571 Norfolk Street at about 12:37 p.m. for a Shot Spotter activation.
Officers canvassed the area for potential victims, suspects, and witnesses, and recovered ballistic evidence on scene.
Both incidents remain under investigation by B-3 Detectives.
