POWNAL — Vermont State Police and Bennington Police Department responded to a rollover crash with multiple life-threatening injuries on Strohmaier Road at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday.
An 18-year-old Pownal resident was driving a 2004 Nissan Pathfinder when the vehicle left the roadway and rolled over with three occupants inside, according to police.
The driver and two passengers sustained life-threatening injuries and were airlifted to Albany Medical Center for emergency treatment.
Pownal Rescue Squad and Bennington Rescue Squad assisted at the scene.
Road conditions were dry and weather was clear at the time of the crash.
The vehicle sustained damage to its entirety.
Vermont State Police are continuing their investigation and potential violations are pending further review.
The driver’s name is not being released due to their age.
