WALTHAM — Waltham police arrested a 17-year-old juvenile Monday evening after responding to a report of gunfire on Moody Street.
Officers responded to the area of Moody Street and Railroad Avenue at approximately 5:26 p.m. following reports of a male discharging a firearm.
Police located two males at the scene upon arrival.
Through investigation, officers determined the individuals were known to each other and the incident was isolated to them.
No injuries were reported.
The juvenile faces multiple charges including assault with intent to murder, assault with a dangerous weapon and firearm-related offenses.
Authorities believe this was not a random act.
Massachusetts State Police and Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority Police assisted in the response due to the incident’s proximity to the Charles River and railroad tracks.
The investigation remains ongoing.
