TEWKSBURY — Three individuals were arrested on drug-related charges following an investigation by the Tewksbury Police Narcotics Unit, Chief Ryan Columbus announced.

Heysol Ortega Berduo, 19, of Lawrence, was among those arrested, according to police.

The arrests came after investigators observed suspects allegedly placing drug samples in the open to attract buyers, Columbus said.

“The brazenness with which they attempted to lure people to buy drugs by placing samples out in the open is disturbing,” Columbus said in a statement.

The chief praised the work of the patrol division and drug unit in the investigation.

“I’m proud of the work of our patrol division and drug unit, as we will continue to be proactive in holding drug dealers accountable,” Columbus said.

The Tewksbury Police Department has not released additional details about the specific charges or the identities of the other two suspects.

The investigation remains ongoing.
