Rhode Island state police make 5 arrests Tuesday on various charges

SCITUATE — Troopers arrested Jason Ruiz, age 27, of 16 Lucas Street Floor 1, Pawtucket on Tuesday, June 3, at 7:54 a.m. on an Affidavit of Arrest Warrant for the charge of Domestic Simple Assault originating out of the Providence Police Department.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Route 295 in the Town of Lincoln.

Ruiz was transported to the State Police Headquarters where he was processed and later turned over to the Providence Police Department.

Troopers arrested Alexander Arana, age 26, of 7 Bailey Street, Cranston on Tuesday, June 3, at 9:34 a.m. on an Affidavit of Arrest Warrant for the charges of Willful Trespass, Larceny Under $1500, and Driving with a Suspended License 4th+ Offense.

The arrest was the result of an Traffic Safety Unit Investigation by Trooper Clift and Arana turning himself in at Third District Court.

Troopers arrested Laylani Gomez, age 25, of 76 Elm Street, Johnston on Tuesday, June 3, at 2:16 p.m. on an Affidavit of Arrest Warrant for the charge of Willful Trespass.

The arrest was the result of a Traffic Safety Unit Investigation by Trooper Clift and Gomez turning herself in at State Police Headquarters, where she was processed, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace and given a future Third District Court date.

Troopers arrested Craig Huguenin, age 42, of 490 Fairview Ave, Coventry on Tuesday, June 3, at 6:30 p.m. for Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicating Liquor – BAC Unknown – 2nd Offense and Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test – 1st Offense.

The arrest was the result of Troopers responding to a motor vehicle crash on Route 295 in the Town of Smithfield.

The subject was transported to Rhode Island Hospital for evaluation.

The subject was later transported to the State Police – Scituate Barracks where he was processed and held pending morning arraignment at Third Division District Court.

Troopers arrested Jason Estacio, age 35, of 8 Franca Drive, Bristol on Tuesday, June 3, at 11:37 p.m. for Driving Under the Influence of Liquor – BAC Unknown – First Offense, and Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test – First Offense.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Route 195 in the Town of East Providence.

The subject was transported to the State Police – Scituate Barracks where he was processed, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace, and released to the custody of a responsible adult.
