Portland police arrest man in stabbing incident

PORTLAND — Portland Police responded to a report of a stabbing in the area of Cumberland Avenue and Preble Street on June 4 at 6:04 a.m.

Upon arrival, police found a 41-year-old unhoused male with a laceration on his hand.

The victim was transported to Maine Medical Center where he was treated and released.

Later that morning, police arrested 37-year-old Christopher Hodgkins, unhoused, charging him with elevated aggravated assault and violating conditions of release.
