Owego police make 6 arrests, respond to 162 calls during week

OWEGO — Owego police made six arrests and responded to 162 calls for service during the week of May 26 through June 1, according to a department press release.

A 46-year-old Owego woman was taken into custody for a mental health hold after a report that she was a danger to herself.

She was transported to a hospital for medical treatment.

Lucas J. Matteson, 40, of Owego, was arrested on a warrant issued by Village of Owego Court for criminal possession of controlled substance in the seventh degree, a misdemeanor.

Matteson was turned over to Tioga County Sheriff’s custody for arraignment at Tioga County Centralized Arraignment Court.

Cole W. Duffek, 32, of Nichols, was arrested for criminal possession of controlled substance in the seventh degree, a misdemeanor, after investigation of trespassing on River Street.

Duffek was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Village of Owego Court.

A 13-year-old Owego girl was taken into custody for a mental health hold after a report that she was a danger to herself.

She was transported to a hospital for medical treatment.

Charles S. Wilcox, 47, of Owego, was arrested for menacing a police officer, a class D felony, and criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, a class D felony, following investigation of persons annoying on North Avenue.

Wilcox was arraigned in Town of Owego Court and released on his own recognizance due to New York State Bail Reform Law.

On June 3, at Village of Owego Court, Wilcox was remanded to Tioga County Jail on $500 cash, $1,000 bail bond or $5,000 property bond.

Jeremy J. Peters, 50, of Owego, was arrested on a warrant issued by Village of Owego Court for failure to appear in court for stalking in the fourth degree, a misdemeanor.

Peters was turned over to Tioga County Sheriff’s custody for arraignment at Tioga County Centralized Arraignment Court.

Police also reported two motor vehicle accidents during the week and issued no traffic tickets.
