NEW BEDFORD — Six people were arrested Thursday following a drug raid at a south end residence, police said.
Det. Stephanie Connolly concluded an investigation into a cocaine distribution operation at 69 South Street Apt. 1 on May 29.
A search warrant was authorized targeting all persons present at the location.
Detectives seized 16 grams of powdered and crack cocaine, digital scales, packaging material, two rounds of .22 caliber ammunition and $2,302 in cash as drug proceeds.
Joshua Hightower, 38, of 69 South Street Apt. 1, was charged with possession to distribute a class B drug, possession of a class B drug and conspiracy to violate drug law.
Robert Silva, 31, of 60 Avery Street, was charged with possession of a class B drug and possession of ammunition without an FID card.
Shannon Smith, 49, of 24 Crapo Street, was charged with possession of a class B drug and conspiracy to violate drug law.
Ashley McSween Lim, 39, of 1 David Court Apt. 1, was charged with possession of a class B drug and conspiracy to violate drug law.
Terrence Battle, 50, of Providence, was charged with possession of a class B drug, conspiracy to violate drug law and on a warrant.
Lijah Fortes, 28, of 69 South Street Apt. 1, was charged with possession of a class B drug and conspiracy to violate drug law.
Acting Chief Derek Belong said the investigation reflects the department’s ongoing commitment to keeping drugs and illegal activity out of the city.
Assisting officers included Detectives Eric Boulay, Matt Couture, Jonathan Miranda and David Wallant, and Officers Tyler White, Bruce Nicely and Jason Molleo.
