MERIDEN — During November 2024, members of the Patrol division, Crime Suppression Unit, and various units within the detective division initiated an investigation into a series of armed robberies that occurred on the west side of the city.

The first incident involved a carjacking at gunpoint.

The second was an armed robbery at the Domino’s Pizza restaurant located on West Main Street.

Utilizing various investigative techniques, detectives determined that both robberies were connected and allegedly committed by the same suspect, who was subsequently identified as Keondre Ward.

Ward was born May 29, 1997.

Members of the Crime Suppression Unit obtained two arrest warrants for Ward in connection with each robbery.

At the time the warrants were served, Ward was already incarcerated on unrelated robbery charges.

Ward has been charged with two counts of robbery in the first degree, larceny in the third degree and larceny of a motor vehicle.

He is currently being held on a total court-set bond of $300,000.
