EAST MONTPELIER — Troopers from the Berlin Barracks responded to a business on U.S. Route 2 Monday at approximately 7:40 p.m. for reports of an unconscious male in a vehicle.
The subsequent investigation led to the arrest of Paul Appleton, 50, of Waitsfield, on suspicion of driving under the influence.
Appleton was taken into custody and issued a citation to appear in Washington County Superior Court Criminal Division.
The charge marks Appleton’s second DUI offense.
