WEST GREENWICH — A 65-year-old East Greenwich man was arrested on drug and reckless driving charges following a motor vehicle accident on Route 95 Monday night.
Richard Sampson of 46 Potowomut Road was arrested at 11:48 p.m. June 2 by Rhode Island State Police troopers from the Hope Valley Barracks.
Sampson faces charges of possession of a Schedule I-V controlled substance (10 grams or less), reckless driving and obstructing an officer in execution of duty.
The arrest resulted from a motor vehicle accident investigation on Route 95 in West Greenwich.
Sampson was transported to Rhode Island Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
He will be arraigned later as a probation and bail violator.
