Horseheads man arrested for criminal impersonation during traffic stop

HORSEHEADS — A 33-year-old man was arrested for providing false identification during a traffic stop in the Town of Erin on June 1, according to the Chemung County Sheriff’s Office.

Thomas M. Vankeuren was charged with criminal impersonation in the 2nd degree, a class A misdemeanor, after giving a false ID to deputies.

Vankeuren was also found to have an active bench warrant for failure to appear on charges of aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the 3rd degree, issued by Big Flats Town Court on May 22.

He was issued an appearance ticket to appear in Erin Town Court at a later date and arraigned by Big Flats Town Court on the warrant before being released.

In separate arrests on June 1, Kellie M. Kelley, 39, of Big Flats, was arrested on an active bench warrant for failure to appear on a charge of criminal impersonation in the 2nd degree, issued by Big Flats Town Court on April 21.

Kelley was arraigned by Big Flats Town Court and remanded to the Chemung County Jail.

Levi A. Stanley, 36, of Ashland, was arrested for criminal contempt in the 2nd degree, a class A misdemeanor, for violating an order of protection in the Town of Southport.

Stanley was issued an appearance ticket to appear in Southport Town Court at a later date.
