PERTH — The Broadalbin-Kennyetto Fire Company and Perth Volunteer Fire Company responded to a general fire alarm at Broadalbin-Perth Elementary School on County Highway 107 on Monday at 7:09 a.m.
Units from both fire companies were dispatched to the scene.
Upon arrival, a Perth Incident Commander initially advised Broadalbin units to stand by at their fire station.
Firefighters determined smoke in the school’s media center was caused by construction work.
Both Perth and Broadalbin deployed engines with personnel and thermal imaging cameras to locate the source of the smoke.
Broadalbin was later advised to continue to the scene but downgraded their response to non-emergency status.
