CARTHAGE — State Police responded to an apartment on Bridge Street in the village of Carthage for a reported fight at 7:19 p.m. on May 29.
Upon arrival, Troopers located a victim with a head injury.
Troopers provided medical care to the victim until the arrival of Carthage Area Rescue Squad.
Investigation determined that the suspect, later identified as Timothy D. O’Connor, 28, from Carthage, arrived at the apartment and confronted the victim, who he knows.
A verbal altercation occurred and ultimately turned physical when O’Connor struck the victim several times with a closed fist.
O’Connor left the scene prior to State Police arrival.
State Police located O’Connor at his residence and questioned him.
Subsequently, O’Connor was placed under arrest and transported to SP Carthage for processing.
O’Connor was charged with Assault 3rd Degree (Class A Misdemeanor) and Criminal Trespass 2nd Degree (Class A Misdemeanor).
O’Connor was released with an appearance ticket returnable to the town of Champion Court at a later date.
