Police break up car meet in Methuen, recover firearm

METHUEN — Methuen police arrested three individuals and recovered a firearm after responding to reports of a car meet Sunday evening.

Officers were called to the Chase Street area around 9 p.m. on May 18 where they discovered a suspicious vehicle and several people behaving erratically.

The police response resulted in the arrest of three individuals – two from Lawrence and one from Haverhill.

A firearm was recovered during the incident, according to police officials.

The names of those arrested and specific charges have not yet been released.
