PETERBOROUGH — A 22-year-old Peterborough man was sentenced to prison after pleading guilty to multiple felony charges related to firearms and drug possession.
Branden French pleaded guilty on May 30 at Hillsborough County Superior Court North and was sentenced to 2 ½ to 5 years at the state prison in Concord.
French received an additional suspended sentence of 3 ½ to 7 years, which will remain suspended for five years following his prison term.
The case began on Sept. 23, 2024, when the Peterborough Police Department received a tip that French, who was on probation for a previous firearms offense, had several firearms at his residence.
After the information was relayed to French’s probation officer, a home visit was conducted on Oct. 3, 2024, during which the officer discovered numerous drugs and firearms.
Peterborough police officers responded to the scene and took French into custody, charging him with twelve counts of felon in possession of a deadly weapon and four counts of possession of a controlled drug, all felonies.
French remained at Valley Street Jail until his court appearance and sentencing.
