Peru man arrested for DUI after single-vehicle crash in Reading

READING — A Peru man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence following a single-vehicle crash on VT Route 106 on May 29 at 11:29 a.m.

The Vermont State Police responded to the scene after receiving a report of the crash.

The operator, Tad Martin, 63, of Peru, displayed signs of impairment during the investigation.

Martin was screened and arrested for suspicion of DUI-drug.

He was transported to the Westminster state police barracks for processing.

Martin was released with a citation to appear in Vermont Superior Court Windsor Criminal Division on July 1 at 8:30 a.m.

The 2012 Toyota Sienna sustained front-end damage in the crash.

No injuries were reported.

Road conditions were dry, and weather was cloudy at the time of the incident.
