Brookfield man faces DUI charge after early morning crash

BROOKFIELD — A 22-year-old Brookfield man was issued a citation for driving under the influence after crashing his vehicle in rainy conditions early Saturday morning.

Vermont State Police from the Royalton Barracks responded to a single-vehicle crash on East Hill Road at approximately 4:53 a.m. on May 31.

The driver, identified as Cody Jacques, displayed signs of impairment during the investigation, according to police.

Jacques was transported to Central Vermont Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

His 2015 Subaru Crosstrek was totaled in the crash.

Police said Jacques was wearing a seat belt at the time of the incident.

Jacques was issued a criminal citation to appear in Orange County Superior Court at 8:30 a.m. on July 30 to answer to the charge of DUI.

The crash occurred on wet roads during rainy conditions, authorities said.
