BOSTON — A 44-year-old Boston man was arrested Tuesday on multiple drug charges following an undercover operation in Dorchester.

Members of the Boston Police Department’s C-11 Drug Control Unit arrested Bodio Hutchinson at approximately 12:30 p.m. near 6 Lyndhurst Street.

Police said the operation was conducted in response to community complaints about open drug use and distribution in the area.

According to authorities, surveillance teams observed individuals loitering and witnessed behavior consistent with street-level drug transactions.

An undercover officer purchased what was believed to be crack cocaine from Hutchinson using documented buy money.

Officers then approached Hutchinson and arrested him without incident.

Police recovered a plastic bag containing four smaller baggies of crack cocaine near where Hutchinson had been sitting.

During a search, officers found an additional 26 baggies of crack cocaine in the suspect’s back pocket and a medium-sized plastic bag of crack cocaine concealed inside a cigarette box.

Authorities also seized $119 in cash, which included the marked buy money used in the undercover purchase.

In total, police recovered approximately 16 grams of crack cocaine packaged in 30 small bags and one medium bag.

Hutchinson faces charges of distribution of Class B (crack cocaine), possession with intent to distribute Class B, and possession with intent to distribute Class B (subsequent offense).

He is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
