Stillwater man charged with multiple felonies after child abuse investigation

SARATOGA SPRINGS — State Police of Saratoga arrested Robert L. Halikias, 21, of Cohoes on May 19 in connection with an investigation into alleged sexual contact with a child in Stillwater.

Troopers received a report on April 19 of inappropriate sexual contact between an adult man and a child.

According to the investigation, Halikias allegedly provided a child under the age of 17 with alcohol and cannabis and then had sexual intercourse with the child on multiple occasions in Stillwater in April.

Halikias is also accused of obstructing the child’s breathing during a physical altercation in Stillwater on April 18.

He was charged with three counts of third-degree rape, endangering the welfare of a child, criminal obstruction of breathing, three counts of unlawfully dealing with a child in the first degree, and two counts of third-degree sexual abuse.

Halikias surrendered himself to State Police at the Saratoga barracks, where he was arrested and processed.

He was arraigned at Milton Town Court and remanded to the Saratoga County Correctional Facility in lieu of $2,500 cash, $5,000 bond, or a $25,000 partially secured bond.
