Lockport man charged with felony after jail window damaged

LOCKPORT — Niagara County Sheriff Michael Filicetti has announced the arrest of Lazarus M. Martin, 23, an incarcerated individual at the Niagara County Correctional Facility.

Authorities say that on May 29, Martin was involved in an incident in which he punched a window at the facility, breaking it.

The estimated cost of repairing the damaged window exceeds $1,700.

Martin was charged with one count of criminal mischief in the second degree, a D-felony.

He will be arraigned in Niagara County Central Arraignment Part Court and will be issued a return date for further proceedings in the Town of Lockport Court.
