HADLEY — Officers arrested a Holyoke man on a parole violation warrant after responding to a shoplifting report at Dick’s Sporting Goods on May 29.
The incident occurred shortly after 1 p.m.
Police located the suspect nearby and confirmed an active warrant related to a prior shoplifting case.
Anthony DeMaio, 39, was taken into custody and booked at the Hadley Police Department.
He faces charges of parole violation and shoplifting.
On May 30, officers arrested a second man after he walked into the police station to report an outstanding warrant.
Marcus Morse, 28, of E. Falmouth, told officers he planned to address the warrant in court later that day.
Police took him into custody due to the active warrant.
Morse was charged with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and use of a motor vehicle without authority.
