Glens Falls police arrest woman on felony DWI charge after near miss with patrol car

GLENS FALLS — A woman was arrested on Dix Avenue after allegedly driving with a blood alcohol content more than twice the legal limit and nearly striking a marked police car late Friday night.

Police said officers stopped a vehicle at approximately 11:45 p.m. May 23 after the driver failed to maintain her lane.

The driver, identified as Danielle N. Mitchell, 33, was subjected to a DWI investigation on the scene.

Authorities said Mitchell’s blood alcohol content registered at 0.18% or greater.

Mitchell was charged with aggravated DWI and DWI for operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

Due to a previous DWI conviction within the last 10 years, the charges against Mitchell were elevated to felony status.

She was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to answer the charges in Glens Falls City Court.

The arrest was made during a high visibility DWI patrol in partnership with STOP-DWI New York.
