Ashland police apprehend 2 suspects after firearm incident at MBTA station

ASHLAND — On Thursday, May 29, Ashland police arrested two suspects following a reported disturbance involving a firearm at the MBTA station.

The Ashland Public Safety Communications Center received a 911 call at approximately 4:23 p.m. reporting that two Hispanic men in their 20s had been removed from an MBTA train and were seen with a firearm.

Officers from the Ashland Police Department, along with mutual aid from Framingham and Hopkinton police, responded immediately.

The first suspect was taken into custody after officers found a loaded 9mm Glock magazine on him.

The second suspect was located nearby and arrested shortly after.

MBTA Transit Police assumed jurisdiction over the investigation.

A search for the firearm was conducted with assistance from Framingham police K9 units.

Both suspects were transferred to MBTA Transit Police custody.

No injuries were reported during the incident.
