ALBANY — Albany police are investigating a shooting that occurred late Thursday night near Madison Avenue and Trinity Place.
At approximately 11:20 p.m. May 29, officers responded to a report of a person with a gunshot wound in the area of Church Street and Fourth Avenue.
Upon arrival, police found a 22-year-old woman inside a vehicle with a gunshot wound to her chest.
Emergency medical personnel treated the victim at the scene and transported her to Albany Medical Center Hospital.
Police said her injuries are not considered life threatening.
Investigators determined the woman was shot while sitting in a parked vehicle near Madison Avenue and Trinity Place.
The investigation is ongoing.
