SCHUYLERVILLE — The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office responded to a two-car personal injury crash Tuesday at 5:20 p.m. on Spring Street in the village of Schuylerville.
Following an investigation, deputies arrested Michael J. Meneely, 52, of Schuylerville for driving while intoxicated, a class E felony, and following too closely, an infraction.
The DWI charge was elevated to a felony due to a previous DWI conviction within the last 10 years.
Authorities said Meneely is accused of operating his vehicle in an intoxicated condition and following another vehicle more closely than was reasonable and prudent under the circumstances.
The operator and passenger of the second vehicle were evaluated and treated for non-life-threatening injuries at the scene.
Meneely was released on appearance tickets at the direction of Judge Ellwood A. Sloat Jr. of Malta Town Court.
He is scheduled to appear in Saratoga Town Court for further proceedings.
