WATERBURY — Police responded to Waterbury Arts Magnet School on Thursday morning after receiving a report of a student possibly carrying a firearm.
The call came in at approximately 7:16 a.m.
Officers quickly determined the item was a water gun and not an actual weapon.
The school was placed under a brief lockdown as a precaution.
The lockdown has since been lifted, and normal activities have resumed.
Authorities confirmed there is no threat to students or staff.
