Palmyra man arrested after traffic stop leads to drug, license charges

PALMYRA — A Rochester man was arrested following a traffic stop in the Village of Palmyra on May 24.

According to the Palmyra Police Department, Elhadj A. Kante was stopped by officers and found to be driving with a suspended license.

Police said Kante also had an outstanding warrant.

A search of Kante’s vehicle revealed several tabs of LSD, a large sum of cash, and a syringe containing an unknown substance, officers said.

Kante was charged with multiple offenses, including criminal possession of a controlled substance and aggravated unlicensed operation in the second degree.

He was taken into custody, processed at the Palmyra Police Department, and then transported to CAP Court for arraignment.
