Mayfield crews respond to brush fire report on State Highway 30

MAYFIELD — The Broadalbin-Kennyetto Fire Company and Perth Volunteer Fire Company responded to a possible brush fire on State Highway 30 near Woods Hollow Road at 12:22 p.m. Thursday.

A report indicated a large amount of smoke in the area, prompting both departments to be toned out and dispatched to the scene.

Upon arrival, a Broadalbin-Kennyetto Fire Company incident commander reported that nothing was observed at the location.

Responding Broadalbin-Kennyetto units were advised to continue in non-emergency mode, while Perth volunteers were requested to stand by at their station.

After further investigation, responders detected a slight smoke condition in the area.

The fire was subsequently extinguished.
