Fatal motorcycle crash under investigation at Kennebunk intersection

KENNEBUNK — A fatal collision between a motorcycle and a passenger vehicle is under investigation after a crash Wednesday evening.

The incident occurred at approximately 6 p.m. at the intersection of Alewive Road (Route 35) and Walker Road.

Preliminary findings indicate a 2018 Honda Fit, driven by Emma Clough, 28, of Sanford, collided with a 2009 Yamaha motorcycle operated by Cameron Mahoney, 19, of Wells.

Police said Clough was turning left onto Walker Road from westbound Alewive Road when the crash occurred.

Mahoney was traveling eastbound on Alewive Road at the time of impact.

Emergency responders attempted lifesaving measures, but Mahoney was pronounced dead at the scene.

Clough was treated and released.

The Kennebunk Police Department is leading the investigation with assistance from the York Police Department’s Crash Reconstruction Unit.

No charges have been filed as the investigation continues.
