JERICHO — A two-vehicle crash on Route 117 in Jericho left two people injured and one driver facing criminal charges Wednesday morning.
The crash occurred at approximately 9:32 a.m. near Rogers Lane.
Anthony J. Burbo, 31, was driving a 2010 Subaru Outback southbound when he left the roadway and struck an oncoming 1997 Honda Civic, according to Vermont State Police.
Burbo and two passengers in his vehicle—Anthony M. Burbo, 63, and Mark Rich, 53—were not wearing seat belts.
Both Burbo men sustained minor injuries and were transported to UVMMC.
Rich was unharmed.
The Honda’s driver, Cody Hoben-Pelissier, 18, of Richmond, suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to UVMMC.
Burbo was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs and gross negligent operation causing serious bodily injury.
He was processed at the Williston State Police Barracks and lodged at Northwest State Correctional Facility on $1,000 bail.
Burbo is scheduled to appear in Vermont Superior Court – Chittenden Criminal Division at 8:30 a.m. Thursday.
Multiple agencies assisted at the scene, including local police, fire departments, and Richmond Rescue.
Both vehicles were totaled.
Road conditions were dry, and weather was clear at the time of the crash.
