UTICA — Utica Police and Utica Fire units responded to a stabbing investigation on the 200 block of Genesee Street at approximately 8:30 a.m. May 26.
Upon arrival, officers located a victim with a stab wound to his shoulder.
Police said the victim provided suspect information and the suspect was found in the immediate vicinity.
According to investigators, an argument had occurred prior to the stabbing.
Authorities said the victim was transported by Utica Fire Department personnel to Wynn Hospital for treatment.
Police identified the suspect as Kenya Stewart, 46, of Utica.
Stewart was taken to the Utica Police Department and charged with assault in the second degree, criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, and menacing in the second degree.
