PROVIDENCE — Troopers from the Scituate Barracks made two arrests in unrelated incidents overnight, according to the Rhode Island State Police.
On Tuesday, May 27, at 10:54 p.m., troopers arrested Alicia Burt, 27, of 34 Woodside Road, Providence, on a Third Division District Bench Warrant for failure to appear for a pretrial conference on the original charge of shoplifting originating from the Smithfield Police Department.
The arrest resulted from a motor vehicle stop on Route 6 in Providence.
Burt was transported to the State Police Lincoln Woods Barracks, where she was processed and later taken to the Adult Correctional Institution – Woman’s Intake Center.
On Wednesday, May 28, at 1:53 a.m., troopers arrested Tyler Morgan, 35, of 122 Waterman Avenue, North Providence, for possession of a Schedule I-V controlled substance – 10 grams or less of crystal methamphetamine.
Morgan was arrested following a motor vehicle stop on Putnam Pike in Smithfield.
He was transported to State Police Headquarters, processed, arraigned by a justice of the peace, and released.
