Ossining police arrest man in narcotics, weapons investigation

OSSINING — A months-long investigation led by the Village of Ossining Police Department, in collaboration with New York State Police Troop K and Troop F Violent Gang and Narcotics Enforcement Teams, has resulted in the arrest of Djion Bentley, 29, of Ossining.

On May 22, officers executed a search warrant at 24 James Street in the Village of Ossining.

During the operation, authorities recovered a Jennings Firearms 9mm pistol and a quantity of suspected crack cocaine from the residence.

Bentley was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree with intent to sell, a Class B felony.

He was also charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, a Class D felony, and criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree, a Class C felony.

Following his arraignment in Village of Ossining Court, Bentley was remanded to Westchester County Jail in lieu of $15,000 cash bail or $75,000 bond.

The investigation remains ongoing.

Assistance in the operation was provided by the Peekskill Police Department and the FBI Westchester County Safe Streets Task Force.
