PELHAM — A 24-year-old motorcyclist died following a collision with a van at a Pelham intersection Wednesday morning.

The crash occurred at approximately 6:48 a.m. at the intersection of Mammoth Road and Nashua Road.

Police and fire personnel arrived to find a 2017 Harley Davidson Dyna motorcycle and a 2017 Chevy Express van had collided.

The motorcyclist, identified as Pantelis Patistas of Hudson, was unresponsive.

Life-saving efforts were unsuccessful, and Patistas was pronounced dead at the scene.

The van’s operator, Jake Doyle, 22, of Londonderry, was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.

A preliminary investigation found the motorcycle was traveling north on Mammoth Road when the van, heading south, attempted a left turn onto Nashua Road.

Speed is believed to have been a factor in the crash.

The New Hampshire State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is assisting in the investigation.

Witnesses are asked to contact Ofc. Taylor McCarthy at tmccarthy@pelhampolice.com or (603) 635-2411.
