HORSEHEADS — A high-speed pursuit that crossed state lines ended with a vehicle crashing into a Chemung residence late Tuesday, leaving two occupants injured and the driver facing felony charges.
New York State Police in SP Horseheads responded to the crash at 959 Dry Brook Road at approximately 9:25 p.m. on May 27.
A preliminary investigation revealed that a 2014 Toyota Tundra, driven by Terry Lynn Murray, 43, of Lockwood, had been pursued by Sayre Borough Police in Pennsylvania before the chase was discontinued upon entering New York.
Troopers arrived to find the vehicle had struck an occupied home.
Emergency crews extricated two residents, Connie A. Miller, 71, and John J. Miller, 76.
Connie Miller suffered serious internal injuries and was taken to Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre.
John Miller sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
Murray was arrested at the scene and transported to SP Horseheads for processing.
He was charged with first-degree vehicular assault, driving while intoxicated with a prior conviction within 10 years, and first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, all felonies.
Murray was arraigned in Ashland Town Court and remanded to Chemung County Jail on bail.
The investigation remains ongoing.
