CLARENDON — Troopers from the Rutland Barracks responded to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Middle Road and Alfrecha Road at approximately 7:12 a.m. Tuesday.
According to police, Sarah Schiermeyer, 77, of Rutland, was driving a 2013 Chevrolet Tahoe northbound on Middle Road.
Jody Sanderson, 51, of Center Rutland, was operating a 2021 Volkswagen Tiguan eastbound on Alfrecha Road, continuing onto Moulton Avenue.
Investigators determined that Schiermeyer failed to yield to oncoming traffic while crossing the intersection.
The Tahoe struck the Tiguan as it traveled through the intersection.
Minor damage was reported to the Tahoe, while the Tiguan sustained significant damage.
Sanderson suffered minor injuries and was transported to Rutland Medical Center.
Schiermeyer was not injured and declined further medical treatment.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts.
Road conditions were clear and dry at the time of the crash.
A civil violation complaint is pending.
